Product Drawing
The threaded of the Union Elbow M/F Conical Joint Seat in American standard:
M: One end of the union elbow is the external thread. This threaded is a kind of taper threaded based on ANSI/ASTM B1.20.1, it is NPT. It can connect the internal taper threaded of the pipes or fittings.
F: The other end of the union eblow is internal thread, it is also NPT as per ASTM B1.20.1. It can only connect the external taper threaded of the pipes or fittings.
Both of the union elbow and pipe should be threaded as per ASTM B1.20.1 and NPT
The advantage of NPT thread
1. Sealing performance: NPT threads are designed as tapered threads. With the help of the shape of the thread, they can form a better seal during connection. This is important for some scenarios where pipes and connections require good sealing properties.
2. Wide scope of application: NPT threads are widely used in many industries and equipment in the United States. This means they are more readily available and used within the United States and have a higher degree of standardization in that market.
3. Standardization: NPT use standardized specifications, which helps ensure compatibility across different parts and equipment. This standardization simplifies the engineering and assembly processes, making it easier for parts produced by different manufacturers to be used interchangeably.
