What is the steel Nipple?

The shape is a three-dimensional stripe circular design, and the outer layer is engraved with three-dimensional stripes. On-site workers often call the joints with threads at both ends as Nipple, which is very inaccurate, and the real Nipple should be internal joints (external threads) at both ends, and the size and sealing form of the threads at both ends are exactly the same.

According to material difference , there are three type nipple , carbon steel pipe nipple , Stainless steel pipe nipple, Brass pipe nipple. In the plumbing and fire protection and piping system ,carbon steel nipple more often used. Steel nipple is different with Malleable iron nipple , Malleable iron cast iron nipple made by cast iron ,named Hexagon nipple (Hex Nipple), steel nipple made by steel ,named steel pipe nipple.

Steel pipe Nipple with American Standard,the thread Standard is ASME B1.20.1(NPT thread nipple), also named long steel pipe Nipple ,barrel Nipple,Galvanized Nipple,GI nipple,Black Nipple ,pipe Nipple. Steel Nipple has different size and length.A TBE Threaded Nipple is a nipple of thread both ends,it means this nipple has two male threaded ends,it can connect with two pipes or fittings with female thread ends.It is the most common used pipe nipple in the industry piping systems.If the nipple thread one end ,called toe nipple. Sometimes the thread has a specific length in the end,some also has the full thread on the who nipple. If the nipple is full thread,it is called close nipple. some nipple with long thread ,Grooved in one end.
